Today you can create professional graphics and print media using web-based software. Two examples of this type of software are Canva and Adobe InDesign.

Canva

Features

– A simple graphic design editor
– Create business branding
– Social media templates
– Share projects with teams and multiple users
– Add animations and audio to your designs

Canva is orientated towards web content like social media posts and web graphics. It has a editor and a large selection of templates and presets. Also, it has a basic photo editor and you can apply cool filters to your images.

You can also insert text, animations, video, and graphics into your designs. There is also a branding tool so you can create consistent designs.

InDesign

Features

– Subject-aware text-wrapping
– Advanced color selection
– Automatic activation of missing fonts
– Ability to create flyers, posters, brochures, and more

Adobe InDesign is mainly concerned with print media such as brochures, flyers, leaflets, and posters. You can easily create layouts using the different size templates. Also, it has advanced color selection so you can easily replicate your brand colors.

Using InDesign you can also share your designs with others or your team for collaboration. There is also an intelligent text-wrap feature so you can fit text seamlessly around objects. You also gain access to the extensive Adobe Creative Cloud libraries and cloud storage.

Who are The Apps Suitable For?

Canva is a great tool primarily used to create digital media for social media and websites. You can produce designs like Facebook cover images, Instagram Stories, and YouTube channel images, for example.

Alternatively, Adobe InDesign is geared towards businesses that need to create digital media for printing. Its templates and host of features mean you can create detailed print media to a professional standard.
