Adobe Photoshop is considered one of the premier raster graphics editing programs available. It has gone through numerous transformations since its creation. Two major versions are Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6 – we look at these two programs below.

Photoshop CC

Features

– Cloud connectivity to Adobe’s cloud service
– Includes 20GB of free cloud storage
– Can save settings and presets to the cloud service
– Has an improved range of filters
– Improved up-sampling

Photoshop CC is the latest series of Photoshop – CC took over where CS6 left off. Adobe has moved to cloud versions of its software which provide greater accessibility. You can access Photoshop CC from anywhere providing you have internet access and your Adobe login details.

Also, you can utilize Adobe’s cloud storage and save settings and presets that can be used on multiple devices. Essentially, Photoshop CC is standard Photoshop, but with improved connectivity and accessibility. It also has some improved features like more advanced filters, and improved AI/content-aware tools.

Photoshop CS6

Features

– Advanced raster graphics tools
– Customizable brushes, textures, and patterns
– Compatibility with Camera RAW and Lightroom
– Full layer management
– Transformation and selection tools

CS6 is the last Creative Suite version and was the last one-off purchase version of Photoshop. It has limited accessibility compared to CC, but still has the basic features and functionality of the software.

Using Photoshop CS6 you can create advanced raster graphics, digital artwork, and media for print. It has an extensive brush system where you can import custom brushes. Also, you can create and import your own patterns and textures.

Photoshop also has an excellent selection of filters, effects, and basic post-processing tools. The only major difference to CC is that it lacks the level of cloud support and accessibility.

Who are The Apps Suitable For?

In terms of usage, both programs serve the same function. They are both useful raster graphics programs that can be used for creating advanced digital media. You can use Photoshop CC and CS6 to easily create web artwork, logos, banners, and more. If you have multiple devices or a team of worldwide workers, CC could be the better choice due to its cloud connectivity.
